Not Peace, but a Sword
Mat 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace,
but a sword.
Mat 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter
against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Mat 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
Mat 10:37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he
that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
Mat 10:38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of
me.
Mat 10:39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake
shall find it.
This is one of my favorite quotations of the Bible in this Jesus gave one of his best teachings ever, seems confusing because the other teachings were for general people to understand but this one requires much Wisdom to understand it, I think this is an esoteric teaching and here is my explanation:
Mat 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace,
but a sword.
(Jesus is the prince of peace, he will never recommend violence, but the sword is the true, I mean Jesus Spiritual Values like true love, compassion, forgiveness but by living these values we became oppositions to the society that teaches the contrary values, so we get peace of mind and ourselves but The Earth get a Spiritual War between Society Values and Jesus Spiritual Values.)
Mat 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter
against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
(Our father and relatives are the society when we grow up that try to corrupt us so we get to resist that, but also could mean that possibility of our relatives get corrupted so we get to fight them and turn them back to the Right Spiritual Values).
Mat 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
(We never know where our enemy (the corruption) is hidden, just like I said before could infect our relatives that is why Jesus uses the household)
Mat 10:37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he
that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
(Don’t get the wrong idea by loving our relatives we are loving Jesus because he teaches to love all creatures, but if you love your relatives more than Jesus, he tried to say this: If you allow yourself to get corrupted by society wrong values just because you don’t have the courage to confront your father or other relatives (I suppose the relative is already corrupted) you will not worthy of Jesus because Jesus need you to take that person out of corruption and that demands you courage to confront them, Jesus is only saying to you not be a coward because these is a hard fight and you will have to trust him to give you courage and a meaning).
Mat 10:38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of
me.
The cross is the mission Jesus gave to every one of us, each one has a special mission on Earth and it is different for everyone, we are here to discover and fulfill that mission, but it won’t be easy, we have to fight a lot of obstacles, you can compared like the mission of Jesus, first he had to teach the Spiritual Values to us and second he had to suffer all that pain alone in order to get completely fulfill his mission. That gives us a hint, we have to spread the Spiritual Values in these society corrupted even if it costs us something precious or cause us some pain so after fulfill our mission Jesus will receive us like heroes( you know that I like heroes of children cartoons I think we just like them, we are in a fight with the evil forces, we are invited to be Saints of Jesus and fight for the true and a better Earth for all of us). Jesus only is telling us to not give up, I think everyone knows Seiya that anime character, he never give up even when facing strong evil, I think in this passage Jesus is telling us to be courageous and never give up trying our mission even when facing strong tribulations because Jesus is always giving us power and hope.
Mat 10:39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake
shall find it.
This life is just an illusion compared to eternal life, I think you all know the Myth of the Cave. We have to show the people that are in the cave that the real life is out there, in other terms we have to show the real meaning of life, the spiritual values, the true love, compassion. And also show that the pleasures of this life are nothing more than traps to prevent us to get the real life, they appear like good things but they imprisoned the people and it is hard to leave these pleasures, So Jesus need his people to save these “slaves of pleasures” but they will try to resist it and maybe you will lose your life (could it mean literally or metaphoric like loss of children or anything value to us). But even them we find the real life because Jesus win the death.

Some people require me to talk and explain something about Jesus of the Bible, so this is the best passage that I could explain because it is very clear to me but not for other people, in the opposite the common people teaching of Jesus is not clear to me because I am not common, I am different so these passages I explain are the most simple to me.
